At the BMCC, we offer monthly support groups to help you before and after surgery.
We understand that bariatric surgery is an emotional process. Even though surgery is very safe, the lead-up can be scary. After weight loss surgery, you’ll have to stick to a strict diet and exercise regime, which can be hard at times when you crave unhealthy foods.
Many of our patients report that bariatric surgery has given them their life back, and it’s an exciting time. At the same time, many still carry the emotional scars from their battle with obesity.
Surgery is an enormous transition, and it helps to go through it with other people. Our patients report that these support groups often feel like their second family. Each support group has an open discussion format, which lets our patients truly support and be there for each other.
You can find a full schedule of support groups here:
Bariatric Surgery Support Group Events
Additionally, we also offer FREE support group events that offer valuable education about weight loss. Some of our past events have taken people to a Denver grocery store to learn how to plan and cook healthy meals, or discussed mindfulness and coping skills that can help with lifestyle transformation. One of our most fun events was going to a local Denver art studio to paint, and sip and share protein shakes.
Open to the Public
All of these events are 100% open to the public. We’ve had lots of people come from the greater Denver area. Our goal is to help people lose their unwanted weight, and our free Denver/Lone Tree events for the public are part of that. You can come whether or not you’re a patient; and bring friends, family, and anyone else who might be interested.
Most of the seminars are hosted in our Lone Tree office, less than 20 miles south of Denver’s downtown.
Directions From I-70
Take I-70 West towards CO-470.
Take Exit 260 for CO-470 E.
